When engaged on a development and deployment project, Adepteq always offer training to our customers to ensure they are capable of Administrating, Managing and Using the solution we have provided for them. This is usually quite a formal process and very specific to their solution, including the projects with Lancashire Constabulary, Nuvia, Grapes Direct and Royal Society of Chemistry.
We are now finding that organisations where SharePoint (WSS, MOSS or Online) has been deployed are looking to do more in-house and increase the skills of the internal IT Team by looking at the associated technologies to SharePoint. This has lead to Adepteq being engaged to provide training on SharePoint Designer, InfoPath (Forms Server), Excel Services and SQL.
A good example of this is the SharePoint Online Site Administrator and User Training provided to South Kensington Estates.
Adepteq also provide more structured SharePoint Administrator training, SharePoint Site Management training, SharePoint Content Authoring training and SharePoint User training.
Another area where we have seen interest is in providing a very informal "Best Practice" day, where Adepteq provide a highly experienced SharePoint Consultant with relevant Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) Certifications. This approach has been highly successful in organisations with an IT Team already used to working with SharePoint, that are now looking for advice and guidance to overcome current issues they have. This is also popular where organisations are looking to upgrade or migrate the existing sites to new technology platforms.
A good example of SharePoint "Best Practice" days, was our work with GW Pharmaceuticals who wanted help and guidance with a specific set of issues they had and for advice on moving from SharePoint Portal Server 2003 to MOSS 2007.
The "Best Practice" days can be purchased as required, or often lead to a formal SharePoint Support Agreement (Phone and Remote) that includes "Best Practice and Guidance" for any development they do themselves in-house.
This is what happened with Rightmove, as after an initial engagement to install document scanning and management within SharePoint (MOSS), they decided to migrate the existing WSS based Intranet into the new environment and wanted to ensure they followed "Best Practice". This day was of great value to them and as they are looking to expand the use of SharePoint have now taken out an annual SharePoint Support Agreement with Adepteq.
