Bedford School initially utilised SharePoint as an Intranet for displaying an easily updated version of the complete school calendar to replace their traditional printed booklet. The success of this project and the drive within the internal team to use more of the features and functionality available within SharePoint has lead to the site rapidly expanding and being refined.
Giving parents access to the Intranet via an AD login so they are able to see exactly the same information as their son can has proved very popular as it enables the school to communicate better with parents.
As the team look to further develop the Intranet they realised they would benefit from professional help and guidance from SharePoint experts. With this in mind members of the team attended an Adepteq seminar "SharePoint is transforming business performance", where they recognised Adepteq's technical ability and knowledge of SharePoint would help the school as they continue developing their own solution.
Adepteq is a Microsoft Gold Certified Education Partner so understood the schools environment and where SharePoint can bring real benefits to the school.
The team at Bedford School will continue to develop the Intranet and now have in place a "SharePoint Best Practice and Guidance" support agreement. This agreement covers the complete existing SharePoint environment and any future developments so Adepteq are now a phone call away whenever the team hits a problem or requires advice when attempting something new within SharePoint. Adepteq strongly believe in knowledge transfer to our customers and this agreement ensures the team at Bedford School continue to develop their SharePoint skills with Adepteq as a safety blanket and mentor.
About Bedford School:
We work hard to create an environment where boys will be happy, grow in self-confidence, thrive academically, and make the most of the many opportunities we offer. We pride ourselves on the pursuit of excellence both inside the classroom and out, and on encouraging boys to develop their talents, discover new interests and prepare for the world beyond school.
We care about results, but not exclusively. We believe education is about more than grades: it is about awareness of the world, about independent thought, about values. It is about the benefits of team sport, of culture, of academic ambition. It is about learning with enthusiasm. It is about growing up in a caring community where all, staff and boys alike, are passionate about what they do. That is what we aspire to and, I am confident, deliver.
