Since it's launch in May, Adepteq has seen an unprecedented level of interest in SharePoint 2010 from both our existing customers and new enquiries.
Typically, following Microsoft launching a major revision to an application we see organisations wary about early adoption and often waiting until a Service Pack has been released. This has certainly not been the case with SharePoint 2010 where Adepteq have already been engaged by a variety of organisations looking to implement SharePoint 2010 solutions now.
Examples of work engaged or undertaken are:
SharePoint Deployment Planning Services (SDPS)
A large local council who do not currently use SharePoint engaged Adepteq to work with them to deliver the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 planning exercise through their Software Assurance (SA) benefits programme. This has been successfully delivered and the council expect to follow the recommendations provided to fully deploy SharePoint 2010 in the coming months.
Migration to SharePoint 2010
Adepteq have been engaged by a well respected Independent school to install and deploy SharePoint 2010 on a new Server Farm. Once installed Adepteq will be testing compatibility of existing 3rd party web parts and custom code with SharePoint 2010 before migrating data from the existing MOSS 2007 environment to the new SharePoint 2010 environment. To reduce disruption this work is scheduled to be completed during the Summer holidays as the school Intranet is a key tool in assisting learning.
SharePoint 2010 Pilot
Adepteq have installed and configured SharePoint 2010 at one of our existing Metropolitan Borough Council customers on a virtualised Server Farm. This customer is already using SharePoint (MOSS Enterprise) in some key areas of the council and plans to use SharePoint 2010 as the basis of a new council Intranet for all users this year.
