Adepteq have won the business to replace RM CC3 Console and complete the move from an RM network to a Microsoft business class network.
Pipers Corner have already migrated a number of services away from RM and the final stage is to replace the RM Console software delivery system with Microsoft Configuration Manager (which is part of the Systems Center suite).
Pipers Corner need to remotely install applications onto systems throughout the school so once the applications required had been identified they were tested and re-packed for distribution via Configuration Manager.
This work was not undertaken in the summer as Microsoft did not offer a suitable alternative. With the release of Configuration Manager, Adepteq can now provide all the functionality of the RM solution and give the school a much simplified method of management.
This project also provided the school the opportunity to review and implement a new set of Group Policies which are applied at login and create new Active Directory (AD) Groups which are then used to apply a student or staff members Lightspeed policies, SharePoint permissions and email groups memberships.
Preparatory work begun in March and the project was completed during the Easter holidays as all the systems within the school required rebuilding as part of the changeover process. This project has now been completed following User Acceptance Testing and both Pipers Corner School and Adepteq are very pleased with the results.
Denise Walmsley, Director of Studies commented:
"Many of the staff are now settling into using the new network. Small problems are being overcome quickly and all thanks to you and your hard work over the Easter. I am pleased with what has been achieved and I have to say staff have commented how pleased they are on the whole, particularly with the speed at which problems have been attended to this week, so many thanks."
About Pipers Corner School:
Pipers Corner is an independent boarding and day school for girls aged from 3 - 18 set in 36 acres of Chiltern countryside.
At Pipers there is an atmosphere of caring and mutual respect with an emphasis on family values, good manners and courtesy. We believe that education is about the development of the whole person. In addition to providing a stimulating academic learning environment we also encourage the girls to cultivate any sporting or creative talents they have through a wide range of extra curricular activities. The girls are challenged to achieve excellence, but not overwhelmed.
Above all this is a school of individuals - there is no typical "Pipers" girl. We support the girls to fulfil their academic and personal potential, enabling them to emerge as mature, confident and independent young women.
