The Engineering Council (EC) identified a business improvement requirement to develop a new Intranet to improve communication, collaboration and document management and identified SharePoint as the platform to deliver this on. EC would also wanted to take advantage of the other benefits offered by SharePoint in the future so wanted to ensure the initial project was properly executed. SharePoint experience within EC was limited so they looked for external help and guidance to ensure the Intranet project is delivered successfully.
After an initial meeting and SharePoint Workshop, Adepteq were engaged by EC to install, configure, develop and train in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010.
All work was carried out by Adepteq’s Microsoft SharePoint Certified staff at EC and provided EC with:
- An agreed structure for the Intranet that is easily updated and managed
- An Intranet Home page
- Departmental sites (Team and General)
- Controlled Document libraries with agreed meta data and Content Types
- An understanding of administration and permissions
- The knowledge and capability for key staff to be able to change the sites if required and to add content to the sites
Following the completion of this work and a few weeks testing and development within EC, Adepteq were engaged to provide a SharePoint 2010 Best Practice day to answer common questions and give recommendations on how the developoment should proceed.
