Ellacotts LLP, a Banbury based firm of chartered accountants and business advisors have created an Intranet using Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 3.0, which they then migrated to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 Enterprise version as they wanted to use the additional functionality provided by Forms Server, Business Data Catalog (BDC) and Excel Services.
All development has been carried out by the Ellacotts IT staff and they were now looking for assistance to move to the next step and contacted Adepteq via a Google search. An initial meeting was arranged to discuss development work for InfoPath forms and integration with line of business applications. This development would prove to be out of budget for Ellacotts so as an alternative Adepteq proposed a SharePoint support agreement for best practice and guidance to assist Ellacotts with their developments.
As Adepteq did not deploy the environment or instigate/deliver the development we were engaged for a day to provide a full high level due diligence review of the infrastructure, SharePoint and development environment. Adepteq then provided a document outlining the current status of the environment as well as highlighting any potential significant issues.
Based on this document we agreed the complexity and scope of the support agreement as this would also need to cover assistance with SharePoint Designer (as it has been used to customise the site and is also being used to create workflows) and InfoPath (as it is being used to create forms).
Ellacotts have now signed a tailored agreement with Adepteq to provide support and guidance with Adepteq having signed a non disclosure agreement to enable remote access to the Ellacotts SharePoint environment to ease diagnostics.
