Adepteq are working on behalf of the EU with a variety of local government and commercial partners throughout the EU to ensure the Independent project is delivered succesfully.
The Independent project sets out to develop and pilot an integrated set of ICT- enabled services to deal with a range to threats to independent living common to older people. By means of innovative usage of ICT, current “silos” in service delivery are broken down to allow for cooperation across all relevant sectors and participation of family members.
In the UK, Adepteq are working with Milton Keynes Council and Connect MK on a pilot utilising SharePoint 2010 to provide a framework for contact between specific council services and the service users.
The first phase focuses on analysing and documenting user and service provider requirements for all Independent services, followed by generation of a set of appropriate use cases for each. The second phase focuses on iterative service modelling and technical specification work, including prototype testing. Finally, a third phase moves on to onsite testing of all Independent services i.e after completion of pilot site preparation, delivery of pilot operation and the evaluation finalises project activity

About EU Independent Project:
The quest for more integrated care is not new, but recently more opportunities for effective realisation have emerged. In particular, the appropriate application of advanced information and communications technology (ICT) can make a major contribution to this goal.
Overall, the pilot brings together twenty partner organisations across six European Member States. It was started in January 2010 and will come to an end in December 2012. The project is part-funded by the European Unions Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme.
