Adepteq were selected by Alleyn's School to assist them with the implementation of a new SharePoint environment.
Adepteq have worked with the IT team at Alleyn's School to assist with the migration of the existing Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 environment to a new server farm, to upgrade to SharePoint 2010 and to provide a Best Practice review of the existing school Intranet so they are able to more effectively use and continue developing the school Intranet.
This engagement took place over the summer holidays to limit disruption as the School Intranet has become a key resource in assisting the students with their learning.
Following the deployment of the new SharePoint 2010 environment the existing data was migrated and tested to ensure compatability of any 3rd party web parts and custom code. Once these were highlighted they were installed onto the new Server and deployed to the sites maintaining the MOSS User Interface (UI).
Alleyn's took advantage of this feature of SharePoint 2010 that enables you to upgrade the back end of the solution whilst retaining the front end UI.
As part of the Best Practice workshop, Adepteq made recommendations on site creation, management and administration of SharePoint to ensure key members of the team at Alleyn's can maintain the new environment and the sites created.
